Supplements Are Good For You
Supplements Are Good For You
You might have heard that some alleged authorities in the news recently said that it is now proven that vitamin supplements aren’t helpful and may be harmful. They say, “Don’t take any!” I’ll explain to you why this is nonsense, and if you make the right choices, the more you take the better!
These authorities quote a couple of studies that are poorly designed, and they come to faulty conclusions. They ignore a large body of evidence that vitamins, minerals, and a broad spectrum of phytonutrients can be preventive and therapeutic in a wide range of conditions and circumstances.
Hippocrates said, “Let your food be your medicine and let your medicine be your food.” By foods, we include herbs and spices. Eat the right herbs and spices, along with the right foods, and you can become and remain healthy. Luckily for those of us who might not be able to cook in this way, the healing elements of spices, herbs, and foods have been put into pills, powders, and potions. A growing body of research documents the benefits, and a growing number of people are enjoying these benefits
Educate yourself. Ask your friendly naturally-oriented doctor, or ask the nice folks at the health food store. And do your own research. No doctor and no clerk can know everything. In the end, you are responsible for the nutrients and medicines you take. You can give away that responsibility at your own peril.
Make the right choices, and you can get and stay healthy! Good luck and good eating!
