Modern research is proving ancient wisdom. Herbs and spices are full of healing qualities. One of the spices at the top of the list is turmeric. The active ingredient is believed to be curcumin. Most of the research is on curcumin, and on “tweaked” versions of curcumin that absorb better and last longer in the body.
Research shows that curcumin is anti-cancer, anti-inflammation, anti-depression, and helps fight and prevent auto-immune diseases.
In the spirit of Hippocrates’ statement, Let your food be your medicine and let your medicine be your food: Either eat a lot food with turmeric, or take your curcumin supplements!
And continue to educate yourself on foods, berbs, and spices for healing. Eat what is good for you. Don’t eat what’s bad for you!
